Struggling through Success

Great success doesn’t necessarily get you peace and satisfaction.  No matter the eyes that look at you with admiration, envy, hope, or gratitude; no matter your bank account or job title or achievements, your insides might not feel confident, or satisfied, or connected, or comfortable.

Some of my most “successful” clients wish desperately for closer relationships, suffer under the weight of over-responsibility, describe pain of emptiness or a sense that they’re not appreciated or cared for as they wish. They may come tired of overreacting to feedback, or unhappy with life at home, or carrying a loneliness they rarely express.

In therapy we can look for the heart of what’s happening and consider what it might take to find greater satisfaction and comfort amidst achievement and success.
